Prague is full of things to see, with something to take the breath away at every turn. It is famed for its architecture, examples of which can be found to tie in with every period in history, dating back to around 1000BC.
The Old Town is the original site of Prague when it was a fledgling town, and from here it has grown into the thriving city we see today. The central square is a mecca for tourists as it is a visual delight, with the city hall being of particular note. The medieval astronomical clock there draws the crowds for its beauty, technical accuracy and sheer detail. Dating back to the 15th century it is a fine example of the skills around at that time.
No visit to Prague is complete without seeing the ancient castle. It dominates the landscape, leaving the visitor under no illusion as to how the area was controlled in days gone by. It is certainly a dramatic site, especially at night when it is lit to create a glorious image that has been captured in many camera lenses over the years.
The city also hosts a wide range of art and culture, including the National Museum, Gallery and Theatre. Prague is very much the cultural capital of the Czech Republic, which further enhances its reputation as a destination city.
For those wishing to visit Prague there are regular flights into the city from the UK and many many hotels offering high quality accommodation. The majority of sights are within the area of the city itself so are quite easy to get to either on foot or by public transport. However, for those wishing to explore a little further afield then car hire from the airport is an ideal option.
